2005 promises to be a very active political year
in New Jersey and Local 1032s political program
will aggressively promote the interests of our members
and working families throughout the state. In addition
to the FY 2006 state budget process and this Novembers
gubernatorial and Assembly elections, the Local
has many legislative priorities that we will be
lobbying for in the coming year.
Throughout the year we will be asking members to
contact their state representatives to voice Local
1032s position on a range of political issues. To
make it as easy as possible for members to identify
their representatives, we have provided the following
links:
New Jersey Legislature
http://www.njleg.state.nj.us
This link takes you to the New Jersey Legislature Home Page. In the left hand column under 'Members', click on 'Find Your Legislator. Using the guide in the right margin, you can search for your state Senator and/or Assemblyperson by name, municipality, or district.
If you dont know your district, the best option
is to search by municipality. Find your town (pay
attention to the County since there are similarly
named towns throughout the state), click on the
link, and you will be directed to the names of each
of your representatives. By clicking on their names,
you will be able to access addresses, phone numbers,
and e-mail addresses for each.
New Jersey State AFL-CIO
http://www.unionvoice.org/njaflcio/home.html
This site provides an alternative way to identify your legislators. By entering your zip code, you can access contact information for your State and Federal representatives, including links to their personal websites. The link above also gives you the option of signing up for NJ State AFL-CIO email alerts about a range of legislative initiatives.
Keep checking this site for information on the
budget, priority legislation, and other political
issues and to learn more about how you can help.
In the meantime, you can keep up on the Locals legislative
